The Spanish Banking Monster

A backstage look behind the Spanish banking collapse. Don’t be turned off by how cute and innocent the women hosting the show are, they actually put together a great program.

The show has excellent insights into the perils of interconnectedness when no one knows what the hell is going on. There’s also a nice aside on how the Germans and Brits helped fund overheated real estate speculation. The irony would be more amusing if it didn’t affect… you know, the world. After Spain’s bailout last week, which the markets took as seriously as a lifelong smoker trying to quit for the first time, this week the G-20 leaders got together and Merkel and Hollande will hold separate talks. All is most certainly not well.
